Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1½ cups granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp red liquid food coloring
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (cream removed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 410°F.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine cold butter and sugar on low speed for 1 minute. Increase to high for another minute, scraping sides as needed.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla until combined.
  4. Mix in red food coloring and cocoa powder on low speed until blended.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together cake flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating until fully combined. Refrigerate dough uncovered for 20 minutes.
  7. Measure out 3.5 oz of dough per cookie and roll into balls. Roll each ball in crushed Oreos and place on a parchment-lined tray about 3 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-11 minutes on the center rack. Let cool before serving.
