  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1 cup apple vinegar
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract (Alcohol-Free)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix apple vinegar, coconut water, ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper (if using), and Vanilla Extract to create the BBQ sauce.
  3. Place beef short ribs in a baking dish and coat with half of the BBQ sauce.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 3 to 4 hours until tender.
  5. Uncover and brush remaining BBQ sauce over ribs; increase oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and sticky.
  7. Let rest briefly before serving with extra sauce if desired.
