  • 500 g beef (flank or skirt)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, gochujang, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef thinly and add it to the marinade. Toss well to coat the meat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, turning halfway through until browned and cooked to your preference.
  4. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, prepare chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
  5. Serve warm topped with green onions and sesame seeds alongside white rice and sautéed vegetables.
