  • 1 block firm tofu (14 oz), pressed and sliced into rib shapes
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons coconut water
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, apple cider vinegar, and coconut water to make a marinade.
  3. Coat the sliced tofu ribs with the marinade in a shallow dish. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
  4. Arrange marinated tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, brush each rib generously with BBQ sauce, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving; garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  7. Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
