  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 0.67 cup pumpkin puree (blotted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup (for icing)
  • 0.5 tsp ground cloves (for icing)
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Allow the butter to reach room temperature.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Chop pecans in half; reserve one half for topping.
  5. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  6. Blot pumpkin puree to remove excess moisture.
  7. Mix in egg, maple syrup, and pumpkin puree until well combined.
  8. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  9. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  10. Scoop dough into balls and place on a baking sheet, spaced two inches apart.
  11. Bake for 13-15 minutes; cool on a rack.
  12. For icing, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and cloves; drizzle over cooled cookies and top with remaining pecans.
