  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 5 tbsp butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Coat the chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to low; melt remaining butter in the skillet. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Mix in the fried chicken until well coated in the sauce. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve with white rice and sautéed green beans, garnished with sliced green onions.
