Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by peeling (if desired) and slicing them into wedges about 1/2 inch thick. Remove core and seeds. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  2. Set up a breading station with separate bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with half of the cinnamon-sugar.
  3. Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip it in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture. Repeat for all slices.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Arrange coated apple slices in a single layer in the basket and lightly spray with cooking spray. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon-sugar over hot apple fries and serve immediately with caramel or yogurt for dipping.
